Code of Practice for the sale of Horses
The Irishhorsemarkets.com Code of Practice is to be viewed and agreed by all horse sellers and agents on this site. Failure to agree with the code of practice will bar any individual from becoming a member of Irishhorsemarkets.com
The Code of Practice is designed to promote honest trading and to protect both buyer and seller in any transaction carried out on the site.
As a seller you will ensure
That buyers will be treated in an honest way.
Horses sold will be described accurately regarding suitability for riders of various levels.
Any vices a horse may have will be divulged.
The buyer will be made aware of any health issues and will be fully appraised of all and any faults or defects in the horse that are known to the seller..
Any horse sold under the Code of Practice will be sold under contract. (Copy of sample Contract can be viewed here).
The contract shall include the clauses as laid out by Irishhorsemarkets.com which will protect both buyer and seller.
You will ensure that any horse advertised for sale is open to full vetting or divulge any reasons that a horse may not be open to full vetting.
Failure to divulge this information will lead to your membership being revoked and all advertisements and promotional material about you and your horses will be removed from the site.
Trading Conditions
Trading conditions are to be used in tandem with the Code of Practice.
Horse: Any equine sold under Irishhorsemarkets.com Code of Practice
Rider Ability: The level of expertise a rider has, as described below
Beginner: Less than one years riding experience.
Novice: One to three years riding ability and has ridden outside of the riding school environment.
Competent: In excess of three years riding experience and having competed on a number of occasions.
Sports Man: Several years competition experience.
Professional: Professional rider.
Note: Signed up Buyers of Irishhorsemarkets.com are obliged to describe themselves as one of the above and are thus responsible for the accuracy of the information given.
Seller: Either the Seller member of Irishhorsemarkets.com or anyone acting on behalf of the said member. Seller also includes Agent members of Irishhorsemarkets.com
Known Vices: Kicking, biting, bucking, rearing, cribbing, windsucking, box walking, sweet itch, colic, lamanitis, broken wind are all known vices and must be notified to buyer.
Buyer: Any buyer member of Irishhorsemarkets.com or any agent acting on their behalf
